Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother

Aveda has made some of my favorite haircare products for years. They can be pricey, but they last a long time (I only have to purchase 2-3 times a year) and they work. I have my haircare routine down to a science to keep the strands looking smooth, healthy, and frizz-free, and it starts with Aveda smooth infusion style-prep smoother. I start by applying 1-2 pumps to my damp hair (for reference my hair is medium length).  Once applied, I blow dry using the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, flat iron with my BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium Straightening Iron, then finish with a small pump of Davines Oi Oil to tame the fly aways and/or frizz.

The 3 reasons why I use Aveda smooth infusion style-prep smoother:

It defends against humidity.

I was skeptical at first, but can 100% vouch that this product helps defends against the highest humidity.  Living where summers are extremely humid, I had to master a haircare routine that fought the humidity. Most people are surprised when they hear my hair isn’t pin straight.  I do think the other products and tools I use help with this, but the 1-2 pumps of style-prep smoother on damp hair before blow drying keeps it from “poofing” when the strands hit a high humidity summer day.

It serves as a heat protectant.

When you flat iron your hair everyday like I do, it is important to have haircare products that contain a heat protectant. I’ve made the mistake of going without before and it takes months to repair the damage and grow out all of the breakage caused by skipping the heat protectant.

It works without the feeling of product.

I hate the feeling of product in my hair. I also don’t want it to look like I have product in my hair. But with frizzy, wavy hair I need something to tame it. You only need 1-2 pumps of the style-prep smoother for medium length hair and it smooths and protects without the look or feel of anything.
