Davines Oi Oil

Davines Oi Oil

Davines® Oi Oil was introduced to me a few years ago when I was looking for a product that controlled frizz.  I have frizzy/wavy hair that I flat iron everyday, so I also wanted a finishing product that prevented frizz, added shine, and made my hair look smooth. It smells really good too!

It is worth noting that I previously used Moroccanoil® Treatment Original, but wasn’t sold on it’s results. While it worked to control frizz, I thought it made my hair look greasy.

The 3 reasons why I chose Davines Oi Oil:

It smooths hair and controls frizz.

You can use this product prior to blow drying, but I only use it on dry hair at the very end of my haircare routine. I start with the Aveda style-prep smoother on damp hair and then blow dry and flat iron my hair at night. In the morning I do a quick touch up with the flat iron and then run one pump of the Oi Oil through my hair starting at the bottom. A little goes a long way and it tames any leftover frizz and smooths fly-aways. It even works in wet or humid weather.

I also use this product if I’m not going to blow dry and flat iron. In that case, I use three or four pumps on damp hair and let it dry naturally. While I’m not a fan of my hair with it’s natural wave and curl, it does help keep it smooth and less frizzy.

It works without the feeling of product.

I want my hair to look naturally straight and smooth (which it is not) but I don’t want to feel or see any of the products I use in order to make it look that way. I have tried so many hair products over the years that have worked, but made my hair feel heavy and sticky or look greasy and weighed down. The combination of the Aveda style-prep smoother (pre-blow dry) and the Oi Oil (post flat iron) has perfected my desired results.

A little bit goes a long way.

Like I said earlier, I only need one pump each time I use this product. It is expensive, but one bottle can easily last me over a year so I think it is worth the price.
