Things I’m Loving Right Now

Things I'm Loving Right Now

I decided to do a different type of post this week outlining some of my favorite recent purchases and obsessions. In no particular order I’ve listed things I’m loving right now…

1. Allbirds

This brand defines themselves as “the world’s most comfortable shoe” and they are not lying. I recently got my first pair as a gift, and I love them. They are super lightweight and very comfortable. I wear no-show socks with them to keep my feet from sweating, but they are washable if needed. I have a pair of the Women’s Tree Runners and my husband has a pair of the Men’s Wool Runners and we both love them. The limited edition cobalt blue color was my pick, but it may be worth getting a neutral color because you’ll want to wear them all the time!

2. Suits

Suits

If you have Amazon Prime you need to start watching the TV show Suits today. Amazon is currently streaming seasons 1-7 for free, if you’re a Prime member, and you’ll be hooked after the first two or three episodes. I’ll admit I didn’t start the USA series until after the royal wedding (my interest was peaked after seeing all the actors show up to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding), but I’ve been hooked ever since. It is easily one of my top 5 favorite TV shows of all time!

3. Patagonia Nano Puff Vest

Patagonia Women's Nano Puff Vest

I never thought I would love a vest so much. The Patagonia Women’s Nano Puff Vest is pricey at $149 but well worth it for the fall weather. It is extremely lightweight yet warm! It doesn’t feel bulky like some puffer vests do and it is very good quality. I also love the three zippered pockets (one on the interior and two on the sides). I’ve washed it several times (on gentle cycle and line-dry) and it still looks and feels as new as the day I got it. Because it is a little more expensive than others, I purchased the vest in black so I can wear it with everything. If you’re patient, Patagonia has sales on their website and I’ve seen some colors up to 50% off. If you are unsure on sizing or color, I recommend buying on Nordstrom’s website since they have free shipping and free returns (in store and online).

4. Taza Chocolate 95% Wicked Dark Chocolate Bar

Taza Chocolate 95% Dark Chocolate Bar

Although an acquired taste, dark chocolate is one of my favorite treats. After I removed most sugars from my diet, that pretty much eliminated every dessert. Dark chocolate is a great alternative and it’s also gluten and dairy-free! The entire 95% Wicked Dark Chocolate Bar contains only 4g of sugar. I usually only eat 1/4 of the bar at a time so that’s only 1g of sugar!

If you are not used to dark chocolate, I recommend starting with 70-80% dark, because it can taste very bitter. If you are avoiding dairy, you usually have to be around 85-88% dark (but always check the ingredients list). Lindt’s Excellence Bar, 90% Dark (another one of my favorites) is a little less bitter of a bar to start with.

Bonus:  Add Trader Joe’s unsalted almond butter to the chocolate for my version of a Reese’s peanut butter cup. I will warn you, if you are used to eating sugar and real Reese’s it will probably taste horrible… but I love it!
